Like what I said on my previous Parts of a Shoe post, I will be making a blog post blog posts showing different styles of mens shoes. I just think it is better to know what kind of shoes one is wearing, don't you think? This blog post will focus on the BROGUE shoes.
A Brogue is a low-heeled shoe with a multi-piece upper with decorative perforations or "brogueing". Depending on the toe cap, it could be a full brogue or "wingtip", semi brogue, quarter brogue, or longwing.
A full brogue has a perforated toe cap with wings or extensions that run along both sides of the toe that terminate at the ball part of the foot thus called a "wingtip".

A variation of the full brogue with no perforations on the toe cap is called an "austerity brogue".

A semi brogue or half brogue has a perforated toe cap that lacks the wings at the sides.

A quarter brogue is like a semi brogue minus the perforations on the toe cap.

A longwing brogue has wings or extensions that run all the way to the back or heel of the foot. This is also called the "American Brogue" due to its popularity in the United States during the 1970's.

There is another kind of brogue called the "spectator shoes" or "co-respondent shoes" constructed from two contrasting colors wherein the toe and heel cap is of a darker color than the rest of the shoe.

That's basically it for the Brogue. Watch out for the next shoeology blog post.
