Phillip Lim's inspiration for his Spring 2012 collection are the skate punks of Huntington Beach, CA. He's been admiring their very "whatever works" way of dressing and incorporated it with his Spring 2012 collection. Phillip Lim is a young man designing for young men. It is very evident in this collection. Key elements are the ombré jeans, the mirrorized boots, and the jumpsuits. One might say that this collection exudes the slouch and sloth way of dressing up but in a very edgy and elegant sort of way.
