Today, Philippines is celebrating Independence Day. It's been 113 years since Philippines was proclaimed sovereign from the colonial rule of Spain. It was also at that time when the unfurling of the Philippine Flag happened in Kawit, Cavite. The modern design of the Philippine Flag was conceptualized by then President Emilio Aguinaldo during his exile in Hongkong in 1897.
