When I just started to quit smoking, a lot of people were telling me that I will gain weight during the first few months. I actually never got the correlation between quitting smoking and gaining weight, not until now. They say that once you quit smoking, you will subconsciously replace the habit by eating as an oral distraction. I never really believed it. Now, looking back, I did seem to have jacked up my calorie intake. When I quit smoking, I started to drink more liquor than usual. Reason being I wasn't smoking anymore during get togethers so tendency is, I drink more. In the office, when people go on cigarette breaks, what I'd do is go to Mc Donald's and buy a Monster Coke Float or fries or a burger or all of them (LOL). Sometimes I'd buy ice cream from Mini Stop. It also didn't help that Starbucks had 50% price-off on Mondays (good thing it's over). Anyway, enough excuses! I gained 8 lbs. in the last two months and to trim down is the only option. Self-discipline is the only solution to this.

Congratulations for quitting! I've been nicotine free for almost 2 years already. My first two months is the worse, hindi nga yung craving yung problem eh, super moody ako, lahat sa family ko nakaaway ko. LOL Anyway, I just want to say, you can do it! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Aivan! Didn't know you used to smoke din pala. Anyway, I really had to quit smoking na. Having physical effects na eh... LOL. CONGRATULATIONS to us!
