Yabu Specials

Yesterday, I was finally able to try some of Yabu's new addition to their menu. I met up with Angel of Wonder Woman Rises and Dan of REX Clothing for some #katsufix over at Yabu and as always, it was pleasant as ever.

Recently, Yabu has gone through some changes to give us a bigger and better katsu experience. The katsu house is now twice as big and now has an in-resto toilet with interesting wall panels. They also added new items to their menu and of course, we just had to try it.

New addition to the Yabu Menu

Yabu Special Katsudon Sets - created by Master Kazuya, original Yabu katsu drizzled with a light and miso-based sauce, accompanied by nori, bonito flakes, and fried egg on top, with a hint of shiso.

Green Mango Shake - newly added to menu

Fresh green mango shake which was so delish. There are also other fruit shakes to choose from. I'm sure there is something for every liking.

Yabu Special Rosu Katsudon

This is what I had. I like my pork with a little fat so I had the Yabu Special Rosu Katsudon. I must say that the taste was distinct from the original katsudon. This is Katsudon with a twist! The added nori, bonito flakes and shiso gave the dish a different appeal and character. As expected, the dish was still delicious as ever.

This is what Angel had. Newly added to the menu as well, original Ebi and Fish Katsudon.

It was Dan's first time in Yabu so of course, he must start with the classic Katsu Set. His first Yabu experience wouldn't be complete if he didn't go thru the "Yabu Ritual". LOL.
