BTS: Araneta Center's Dress Me Up - Back To School

Last Saturday, I took part in Araneta Center's Dress Me Up challenge. The Dress Me Up challenge is a styling stint for style bloggers that showcases clothing brands in Araneta Center to be modelled by the Bb. Pilipinas 2013 winners and A-list male models. The output in turn will be exhibited through a photo gallery for a couple of months through out Araneta Center and shall be kick-started with a grand launch in the next coming days.

There were in total 5 teams who participated in the challenge. Each team consisted of 2 style bloggers, 1 Bb. Pilipinas Queen, 1 male model, and 1 PA. My team members were Christine Liwag, Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Ariella Arida, Male model Cris Lomotan, and PA Mitch. Our team was a powerhouse (LOL).

Here's the catch - we can only use clothes and accessories pre-chosen by the organizers for the challenge that we had to mix, match, and style. We had to come up with 4 layouts (2 layouts for each model) in 10 minutes (although they weren't really strict with the time). The concept of the shoot - Back To School. I wouldn't have chosen any other partner than Christine of course. As you will see later in the BTS photos, our very own personal style translated into our models. Now, if only Ariella and Cris' physical attributes translated to me and Christine, it would have been perfect. Hahahaha.

BTS: Freshies to Seniors - Ariella Arida and Cris Lomotan

What Christine and I had in mind for the shoot was Freshman-Senior outfits. For our first set, we conceptualized Ariella Arida and Cris Lomotan as incoming Freshies. Since Freshies need a bright, inviting, and cheerful image when stepping into a new school, we decided to play with colors and prints. Making a good first-day impression is a must in a new school so looking very approachable and fun is necessary. This is, in a way, how you will make friends.

For our second set, we envisioned Ariella and Cris as incoming Seniors. Of course, as Seniors they need to show sophistication and presence. Seniors must have this air of confidence and attitude showing that they made it Senior year. They have to command attention and respect. This is how school works. Well, this was how my school worked (LOL).

I had so much fun during the shoot. Actually, everyone had so much fun. The Bb. Pilipinas 2013 Queens were very nice, willing, and friendly. Same goes for the male models as well. Everybody was up to the challenge. The organizer, Kath, was very accommodating too. Watch out for the official press release and photos soon. Will definitely put them in my blog!
