S&K Applied DENIMOLOGY + #SwapWithSamuelKevin

These days, denim means a lot more than it was 3 decades ago. It has become complicated but simpler it terms of what the users need: jeans can make our legs slimmer, they can memorize the shape of our body, and feel more comfortable than ever while having a tailor-fit look. Technology, innovation and the thing we call “denimology” transformed 100% cotton into something more relevant, something more for today.

Since 1999, brand Samuel & Kevin concentrated on designing jeans. Eight years of professional experience has enabled S&K to develop the best designs specifically for Asian people. In 2001, S&K launched the "8" jean series, which are specifically designed for Asian body types. This series focuses on comfort, trend and leisure. Examples are the "comfort fit 802", "regular straight 803", "Slim 811", and "Skinny 821".

The "8" series successfully meets different customer needs and provides added convenience for customers, as they can choose their favourite fitting series with different washing effects.

During the washing process, every pair of jeans passes through several procedures in order to attain the highest quality and fit. S&K is devoted to producing individual, unique and fashionable clothes, and in particular to developing trousers. In return, young generations are loyal to the S&K brand.

Now, S&K introduces another addition to the 8 series with Free J which is a combination of sweat pants in jeans that is as soft as knit fabric. It moves with ease and tucks better than regular jeans for a better fit and feel.

S&K studied regular denim and created a softer and looser one with towel-like softness for cosy comfort and warmth for the active youth of today.

FREE-J looks the same as regular jeans, until you put it on and feel the difference. This will be available this November at S&K East Wing Shangrila Mall.

Now, we would like to encourage everyone to try out the S&K jeans by swapping old jeans. You can avail any S&K jeans for men at 50% OFF this November 29, 30 and December 1 2013 at Shangrila East Wing. Old denims that will be collected will be donated to Yolanda survivors.

LEE Denim DIY

With Lee’s landmark 125th anniversary fast approaching, the iconic American Jeans brand has raised a call to arms among Manila’s fashionistas with a Denim DIY Craftsmanship Workshop at the hip URBN Bar that also kicks off the Lee Style Army Competition.

Eight future fashion industry leaders and stylish celebrities were selected for their passion for denim and for being embodiments of Lee’s Stay Curious spirit: Sculptor-fashion designer Leeroy New, visual and tattoo artist Sarah Gaugler, designer and muralist Deejae Paeste, Pro-formula racers Michelle Bumgarner and Mark Bumgarner, designer Jerome Lorico, and fashion blogger and accessory designer Paul Jatayna.

At the workshop, they will be given the chance to discover the many possibilities of denim by customizing pieces that represent their personality and sense of style. Each piece will then be featured at the Lee Denim Exhibit during Philippine Fashion Week on Oct 25, 2013, 6 pm at the Atrium, SM Mall of Asia.

Everybody's busy!!! Spotted Paul Jatayna, Tin Iglesias, and Verniece Enciso

A testament to the versatility and universal appeal of the denim, the workshop will feature work stations where participants will get to experience fading, staining, whiskering, patching, grinding, and embellishing a piece of Lee original zip-fly jeans. Here, they have the opportunity to create jeans that they can truly call their own, and become modern artisans reliving the spirit of denim craftsmanship, which Lee has inspired for more than a hundred years.

Giordano Denim Now, Denim Forever

Fashion trends come and go, but only one thing remains constant: denim.

Since it was invented in 1853, the sturdy fabric has been molded into different fits and styles – bellbottom, boot cut, bleached, washed, colored. And unique to the denim is how it flatters every person who wears it, from workers to rock stars, cowboys to celebrities; it’s the ultimate staple apparel. True to its long and rich history, the denim jean is designed to last forever.

In celebration of this classic material, Giordano Philippines launches “Denim Now. Denim Forever”. Can be worn by anybody in any season for almost any occasion, the raw and colored denim offered in the collection is available in different fits and styles.

“Denim Now. Denim Forever” underlines the material’s sturdy yet comfortable characteristic. “Compared with last year’s denim collection, this year’s pieces are different in terms of fabrication, thread and pocket design. The styles now have a higher spandex content, thus allowing more movement for the wearer,” said Ella Santos, Giordano Philippines Denim Category Buyer.

In this collection, Giordano highlights the classic beauty of raw denim. “The dye is expected to fade gradually with continuous washing. This is one of raw denim’s unique characteristics and it must not be considered as an imperfection,” Santos said.

Giordano raw denim jeans come in two kinds of fits and styles: tight tapered and slim tapered for men, slim tapered and skinny straight for women. These pieces are also designed to adjust to the wearer’s shape and size, acquiring a more personal fit.

Colored denim jeans are the ultimate expressions of fun, comfort and style. Similar to Giordano’s legging jeans, the spandex content in these pieces allows wearers to move freely and comfortably. The jeans are available in eight different colors – classic black, washed red, oxblood, mustard, blue turquoise, navy blue, dusty white and dark denim – in skinny tapered for women and tight tapered for men.

Pieces from the Giordano’s “Denim Now. Denim Forever” are available in all Giordano stores nationwide at an affordable price of PhP999, starting August 23 until mid-September.
