almost

As always, I went out with the team over the weekend and watched Green Lantern. After the movie, we went strolling around and I came across this:

Salvatore Man - SM P1500.00

Looks quite familiar, ey? It does because it sort of resembles the John Varvatos Hipster Chukka from my shoelust post (all Chukka boots look almost the same).

John Varvatos Hipster Chukka $198.00

I would have settled for the Salvatore Man from SM except that I find the construction quite substandard. I was checking the shoe and the feather of the upper is just glued on the sole. Also, glue smudges are seen on the sides. For a price tag of P1500.00, one cannot complain. This is exactly what I am talking about. If only local manufacturers will go the extra mile of making their shoes a tad more long lasting and sturdier. I think this is one classic case of production quantity over quality. I don't mind paying more if I know it's worth it (as long as they don't go ridiculously over the top like the high end ones).
