shoelust

The best thing to do to kill time is to look up shoes online.

If only I'm filthy rich I'd buy all the shoes I want. Why do men's shoes have to be so freakin' expensive?

There is a saying that the best things in life are so forsakenly expensive free. Then why aren't these shoes just free for the picking?

John Varvatos Ago Side Zip in Cherrywood $698.00

John Varvatos Hipster Chukka in Lead $198.00

Diesel New Cripity in Black $325.00

Frye Phillip Lace up in Brown Vintage Leather $298.00

Prada Leather Chukka Boots in Ardesia $495.00

I'd love to get my feet in these shoes. If only most local shoe manufacturers (Marikina) would make their designs like these, I'd be a patron for sure. There are locally made shoes that are almost perfect I must admit but still there is that something that brings it down a couple of notches:
  • perfect design almost but then they emboss a weird logo on the side
  • brilliantly designed but very poor construction
  • fake stiches (stiches for design puposes only - in reality, only glued)
  • very, very cheap materials (generic department store shoes are current and in trend but the materials they use don't even last after a single couple of uses)

Why don't they just go all the way? They don't have to use exquisite full-grain leather but maybe make use of something else that would last longer. I would settle for cowhide or pigskin rather than synthetic leather. If only true nappa leather is cheap then I'd go for that. How I wish.

If I were to truly over indulge myself, I would want to own a pair of these too. Perfect for the rainy season.   I'm pretty sure they use natural rubber for this.

Gucci Rain Boot in Black $295.00

Okay. Time to come back to reality and just settle for I have and just stick to what I can currently afford (diffuse line over signature line. LOL).

Hey, a guy can dream you know.
