For some reason, Blackberry users in the office have been updating their phone versions to 5.0 today. What else is there for me to do but to update my BB too. Darn. If I only knew this would eat up so much of my time, I would have just passed on the idea.
To cut things short, my BB was updated to v5.0 after about two hours of trial and error (frustrating!). To add up to my frustration, I lost all my media files - photos, music, and videos, during the update process. I had to wait to get home before I could manually put my media back into my phone (it pays to keep back ups). I was able to restore my media eventually and everything is all good until I realized I lost my downloaded applications too. Since my frustrated disposition will do me no good, I just accepted the fact that I would have to reinstall my apps one by one. So after a couple of hours more, my BB is finally up and running again.
I actually do not know why I even bothered going thru all these when in fact, I rarely use my BB except for texting and calling (which I rarely do). My friends know for a fact that chances of me responding to them is far greater if done over social networking sites rather than thru texting or calling. I am more of the "online type" of guy. Come to think of it, I could live without a phone but I just keep one for those "just in case" moments.
