At this time and age, anything new is bound to become mainstream. This goes so much to food, hobbies, gadgets, and of course - clothing style. The last thing a person would want is, you know, to just blend in. Clothing style-wise, realistically speaking, has always been dictated. Trend is what it's called. It's just a matter of knowing the right timing on when to actually get into it. One would definitely want to be an innovator of trends or at the very least, be an early adopter. When a trend is already in the early to late majority, it's just like jumping into the bandwagon and at this level, you will be just another face in the crowd.
I am always in search for new styles and trends to peg. I may not always execute them but I am always into them. Right now, I am currently obsessing on Cholo Style of clothing. It's not a trend but definitely a classic style I am very much willing to adopt and fuse to my personal style. Cholo Style is a powerful Chicano street-tough look of the American-Hispanics from the barrios of East Los Angeles. The basics - plaid/plain button down, white undershirt, military belt, khaki/black/gray shorts or pants, white knee high socks, and athletic shoes. Of course, the last touch to the whole look is the attitude that goes with the style.

If one is totally clueless about Cholo Style, I suggest looking up the movie Blood In, Blood Out. This movie is a great depiction of not only Cholo Style of clothing but also the Cholo way of life. This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I and my friends grew up watching this movie over and over again.
Here are some screen caps from the movie showing Cholo Style of dressing up:

Hopefully, I can do outfit shots soon to showcase my interpretation of Cholo Style. I hope I get the time to do outfit shots soon.
